After having talked with Malcolm the Easy Company medic was feeling better. He knew his place, his purpose now. Most importantly he had hope. Somewhere along the line of the War he had lost it and in the process nearly lost himself. OOM. Millitimed to while Gene was still in the infirmary. The medic gets a visit from a very worried pilot friend. things go better than expected at least in relation to how Sariel thought they would.

Rated D for mildly dark in places, and N for narration saying *way* more than dialogue.

A couple of days worth of sleep, some cough and cold medicine, and finally some warmth were enough to get Gene out of the infirmary. At least for now- his hands still twitched from the lack of morphine on their time on the line.
